It’s, like, the funniest, like, movie evaaarrrr

I was just reading Kate Torralba’s post about the Kimmy Dora Thanksgiving Party and can I just say how amusing it is that Kimmy Dora has earned the literati’s and the fashionistas’ stamp of approval, as well as that of some people who normally don’t give a toss about Filipino comedy movies? You see them posting the trailer on their Facebook accounts and exhorting everyone to watch it, and when it finally came out, people started writing glowing, giggly reviews that make it sound like it’s the height of humor.

Naturally, hah, I had to see what it’s all about. How did I like it? Mrh, it could have been better. Not that there weren’t funny moments; oh, there were. But I wouldn’t go as far as telling you that OMG it’s the funniest movie ever, I swear you have to see it, I gotta get it on DVD!!! It was…all right. My favorite part of the film has to be Elena, heh.

In the event that someone actually stumbles upon this post, gets upset that I didn’t love the movie, and tells me, “Gods, you’re such a freaking elitist, how could you not like that, gods, do you think your sense of humor is soooo up there that you couldn’t appreciate the movie at all?”, I say this: I and the rest of the world wouldn’t necessarily love everything that you love. Deal. I thought the movie was all right, but it didn’t exactly change my life, so it’s too damn bad my non-loving of the film upset you.
